Mange har meldt seg på det internasjonale seminaret under 100 års jubileet i slutten av mai. På www.advokatjubel.no har programmet foreløpig hatt teksten: Surprise celebrity. Nå er det klart at det virkelig er advokat Cherie Blair som kommer til Oslo.
Lørdag 31. mai er det internasjonalt seminar på Nobels Fredssenter fra kl. 12 til 15. To store internasjonale advokatkjendiser er forelesere. Seminaret er gratis og allerede nå har mange meldt seg på.
Det har vært kjent at den amerikanske Advokatforeningens leder, Wlliam Neukom, er den ene av foreleserne. Neukom var tidligere juridisk direktør i Microsoft, men bruker nå mye av sin tid på prosjektet ”World Justice”. Han var nylig i Norge for å søke støtte og han vil forelese om prosjektet på seminaret i mai.
Cherie Blair er en kjent advokat i London i tillegg til å ha vært statsministerfrue i Storbritannia i mange år. Hun arbeider mye med arbeidsrett og menneskerettigheter og holder av og til forelesninger. I Norge vil hun snakke om balansen mellom familie og jobb ut fra egne erfaringer og hun tar også opp menneskerettsspørsmål.

After studying Law at the London School of Economics (LSE), Cherie Blair was at the top of her class in her Bar examinations and was called to the Bar in 1976. She married Tony Blair in 1980 and in 1995 she became a Queen’s Counsel, which is a title held by only 10 percent of English lawyers. Currently, she specializes in Public, Employment and European Community Law at Matrix Chambers law group in London. Ms. Blair is Chancellor and Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), Governor and Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics and the Open University, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, a Doctor of Laws (Westminster University) and a Fellow of the International Society of Lawyers for Public Service. She is a Bencher of Lincolns Inn London as well as honorary Bencher of Kings Inn Dublin.
A trailblazer in her professional life, Ms. Blair is a dedicated wife and mother in her private life. She likes to spend as much time as possible with her husband and their four children- Euan, Nicholas, Kathryn, and Leo. Her book, The Goldfish Bowl, is a powerful blend of personal testimony and social history about life as the spouse of Britain’s Prime Ministers, from the 1950s to 1997.

Nobels fredssenter:
Historikk og finansieringsgrunnlag: Stortinget vedtok i desember 2000 å opprette Nobels Fredssenter på Vestbanen i Oslo med sikte på åpning i forbindelse med hundreårsmarkeringen for unionsoppløsningen 7. juni 2005. Senteret åpnet 11. juni 2005. Det er ingen hjemmel i Alfred Nobels testamente eller hos Nobelstiftelsen i Sverige for å støtte Nobels Fredssenter økonomisk. Statsbygg investerte i en rehabilitering av det vernete Vestbanebygget. Nobels Fredssenter betaler årlig 14,5 millioner som inkluderer husleie og byggrelaterte kostnader. Etter opprettelsesvedtaket ble det samlet inn 85 millioner kroner i private sponsormidler blant annet fra KPMG International.
